Elo
TouchSystems Announces New 19in LCD Medical Grade
Drip Proof Monitor for Use in Patient Care Areas
January
2005 —Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the
global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics,
has announced its new 1926L
19in LCD medical grade desktop touchmonitor, the latest addition to the
company's Entuitive 5000 series. The 1926L touchmonitor, available in dark
grey or beige, is UL/cUL 2601-1/C22.2 No. 601.1 and CE MDD (EN60601-1/EN60601-1-2)
certified, making it ideal for use in medical environments. The 1926L is
available with a USB or serial touch interface for use with Elo's AccuTouch
five wire resistive and IntelliTouch surface wave touch technologies. An
innovative IPX1 enclosure design takes advantage of the natural resilience
of Elo's AccuTouch technology to ensure that the entire touchmonitor sheds
water and is safe from liquid drops and spills. The drip proof nature of the
new 1926L 19in LCD medical grade desktop touchmonitor allows the monitor to
be sterilised with hospital grade disinfectants so it can be safely placed
in patient care areas such as the operating room, where contamination may
occur.
Ideal for Medical Equipment OEMs and Healthcare SIs
"Elo's new 1926L
19in LCD medical grade desktop touchmonitor is intended for patient
vicinity use in hospitals, clinics and care giving facilities where
medical certifications are necessary," says Mike Sigona, Elo's marketing
manager Europe. "The latest addition to Elo's comprehensive range of
'designed for touch' Entuitive touchmonitors, the new 1926L can be
activated with a gloved hand a critical capability for medical applications.
The 1926L is a truly integrated solution for medical equipment OEMs
and health care systems integrators seeking a reliable, durable and
cost effective medical grade touchmonitor."
Attention to Detail
"Elo's attention
to detail on the new 1926L 19in LCD medical grade desktop touchmonitor
even includes a 3m hospital grade power cable for use in North America
and Europe," says Sigona. "The excellent 170 by 170 degree viewing
angle means that the touchmonitor can be set to one side, yet screen
content still remains within the user's peripheral vision. Other features
include: a 700:1 contrast ratio, 1280 by 1024 resolution, head mounted
speakers, multilingual OSD with lockouts, good cable management, extreme
stability when touched and support for two video input formats -- standard
analogue and digital (DVI-D)."
