Elo Touchsystems Cebit Overview

Global leader in touch technology exhibits new touchmonitors and touchcomputers at CeBIT in Hannover

CEBIT March 2006 - Hannover, Germany. Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, is exhibiting a wide range of new touchmonitors and touchcomputers on Stand C38 in Hall 25 at CeBIT (9-15 March 2006) including three new cost-effective rear mount touchmonitors in 15", 17" and 19". Also on show will be examples of touchmonitors showing Elo's strength in desktops, including a whole new line of models in its entry level 1000 series in 12", 15", 17" and 19", and the company's 1529L silent, fanless, all-in-one touchcomputer.

New Affordable Rear Mount 15" LCD Touchmonitor from EloThe new 1537L 15" LCD rear mount touchmonitor extends the 1000 series of affordable entry level touch solutions for kiosk information systems, gaming and amusement and light industrial shop floor automation. The new space saving touchmonitor is "designed for touch" with Elo's proven expertise and reliability already built in. The integrated precision minibezel seals the touchscreen against dirt, dust and liquids simplifying integration into the customer's enclosure. The 1537L rear mount touchmonitor is available with a choice of Elo's IntelliTouch surface wave, AccuTouch five wire resistive or surface capacitive touch technologies, plus a dual serial/USB touch interface. Worldwide agency approvals cover the whole monitor that is designed, built, serviced and supported by Elo, a single source supplier.

Other new models of metal frame chassis LCD monitors are being shown in 17" and 19" sizes. Both feature an even more compact footprint, unique watertight minibezel and Elo surface wave or capacitive touch technology. The 1739L and 1939L models feature a wide viewing angle panel.

Also on show in the 3000 series of multifunction desktop touchmonitors is the 1529L 15in LCD that includes options for an integrated three-track magnetic stripe reader (MSR), biometric fingerprint recognition device and the first consumer touchable 12.1" rear-facing customer display. The 1529L is joined by Elo's in-depth desktop product line-up that now encompasses models from 12" to 19" including the 1229L with rear-facing display and the distinctively styled 1925L with its metal base, metal bezel and thin borders.

The new 1000 series of entry level desktop touchmonitors range in size from 12" to 19". The 1215L, 1515L, 1715L and 1915L are affordable products in a convenient, space-saving design that provides both first-time and experienced users the ability to deploy touch solutions to market more easily, more reliably, and far more cost-effectively than ever before.

Elo's recently announced 1529L silent, fanless, all-in-one touchcomputer is being shown in several mounting configurations and colours. The space-saving, elegantly styled touchcomputer combines a touchmonitor with a computer in the footprint of a standard 15" tabletop LCD. Integrated options include a three-track MSR and rear-facing customer display. The Microsoft XP version includes a hard drive while the Windows CE Embedded version has solid state components with no moving parts.

"The new 1529L all-in-one touchcomputer provides a truly economical solution," comments Sigona. "Its design and development continues Elo's commitment to a reliable, retail-rugged and easy to integrate touch solution that fits in with any systems integrator, OEM and/or Value-Added Reseller's requirements."

Also on show are Elo's core touch technology products. Elo capacitive touchscreens provide a solution for customers seeking an alternative to the currently available capacitive options. And the recently patented IntelliTouch Super Flat Profile (SFP) touchscreens extend the company's proven pure glass surface wave touch technology by using grating technology to achieve distinct advantages: a true flat front surface that smoothes out the bumps of integration, narrower borders around the active touch sensitive area and a new flat cabling system.

Elo's touchmonitor and touchcomputer products are being shown on Stand C38 in Hall 25.
