Job Purpose & Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated, Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As part of a collaborative environment, this person will use their systems-level understanding of electronics and controls to contribute directly to the design, development, and implementation of a variety of solutions, including the Intel-powered AiO, Android devices and PC Box products. We will consider candidates in the Pacific Time Zone (USA).
 This is a hands-on position with a high level of responsibility for the successful delivery of leading-edge solutions in the growing touchscreen market. Our environment is complex and requires the application of critical thinking in demanding situations.
 What You’ll Do:

  • Architect Elo’s hardware solutions from scratch to production.
  • Work closely with our Product team to define the product specifications and provide suggestions from a technology viewpoint.
  • Own products from concept to grave, demonstrating oversight of our products. You get to do it all at Elo not just a single piece.
  • Work with multi-discipline teams to provide the design concept/package to our sourcing team for RFQs, and partner as the technical support during the RFQ stage.
  • Work with our international ODMs/CMs and drive project development from Kickoff to MP.
  • Oversee document control, including creating the Product architecture, document definition, track revisions, and manage the release.
  • Work with both internal and external (supplier) software engineers for all necessary tools to support our hardware as required.
  • Serve as the Lead engineer for issues debugging, solution, and verification, provide direction for complex issues and determine and lead corrective action if necessary.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver products, respond to customer and factory-build issues, while demonstrating a high level of customer focus.
  • Initiate and guide product sustaining activities after product launch.
  • Provide technical support to our FAE team as needed.

You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution. 
  • At least 2 years of experience with Intel and Arm systems. Familiar with schematic design, BOM, and board-level debug.
  • Experience in system-level integration, panel technology, and key part selections such as LCD panels, touch screens, memory, storage, wireless modules, power supplies etc.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English
  • Work from home in the Pacific Time Zone (USA) or from our California San Francisco Bay Area office.

Ideally, You Have:

  • Strong analog and high-speed digital design knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Android, and Linux (ex: Ubuntu, SUSE) image creations.
  • Strong understanding of some key Intel features such as vPro, PXE Boot, TPM, Secure Boot…etc.
  • Hands-on experience to use lab equipment such as oscilloscope, power meter, color meter, multimeter, thermal meter…etc.
  • Hands-on experience with development using outside supplier teams.
  • A great team player, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are essential to being successful in this role.
  • Having experience in Intel AiO PC/laptop design would be a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift to OSHA single person lift requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally unrestricted
